About the Department of Neuropsychiatry
The Department of Neuropsychiatry in KDH treats mood disorders, anxiety disorders, cognitive disorders, sleep disorders, and addition disorders, including acute stress reaction, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), functional mental and physical disorders, pain disorders, and repressed anger. The Department of Neuropsychiatry deals with various behavioral issues, including difficulty in anger control, cognitive function affected by other diseases, behavioral issues after brain injuries, or behavioral issues caused by epilepsy.

Moreover, the Department of Neuropsychiatry can implement brain stimulation therapy using magnetic fields without drugs, using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). TMS is the latest therapy, stimulating the cerebrocortex using the localized magnetic waves delivered through the head surface. TMS is used to treat depression, obsession, chronic pain, schizophrenia, auditory hallucinations, ringing, or brain dysfunction, for which drug therapy is not effective.

In particular, the Department of Neuropsychiatry in KDH devotes itself to mental health projects for the local community's mental health. The Department of Neuropsychiatry has been operating the Hanam Mental Health Center since 2004 by contract and has implemented a variety of activities, including chronic mentally disabled rehabilitation, mental health programs for schools and the elderly, and support for those in danger of a suicidal crisis. Moreover, the Department of Neuropsychiatry established the Dementia Prevention Center Clinic and endeavors to treat the high-risk dementia groups and dementia patients, support their guardians, and support a community dementia care project, including sending doctors to Hanam Dementia Center, operating the Gangdong-gu Dementia Center by contract.
